Let Us Know!

I'm stuck here at work so although I can easily get away with postin' GWAR's new "Let Us Slay" video (lead single off their uber-awesome Lust in Space), I can't crank up the speakers or even watch the darn thing. I sure don't want you all to miss out so please stream it for me during these next few hours, and once five o'clock rolls around I'll letcha know what I think. Early predictions include: drippy foam rubber, bad Chroma-Key, and basic cable-friendly omissions of the band's enormous monster genitalia! Enjoy:

I Should Listen to More AC/DC

Just got High Voltage's "Little Lover" on the shuffle, and, wow, what an awesome tune. Super slitherin' vo-kills, uber-tasty guitar licks, and -- best of all -- lines about Gary Glitter and "that wet patch on your seat"! I'm sold. Bon Scott: genius!

JP Inc is Number One...Twice!

I don't like a lot of funny stuff, but for whatever reason I always find the Pleaseeasaur side-splittingly hilarious. Here's 'Saur mastermind JP Hasson and his new video for "Jazzbot Xtreme" which has had me chucklin' since last Friday. Dig it.

DutyCast Episode 32: Does Anybody Want Some?

Well, we made it. After two weeks, the Duty's back on track and tryin' to scrape the rust off the cobwebs of our podcastin' skills. This week:

  • We survived ArnoCorps. And had a ballsy fuckin' time!
  • Nobody likes GWAR? WTF? Lust in Space is outta this world.
  • Nobody like Fu Manchu? WTF? "Pigeon Toe" is toe-riffic.
  • Everybody likes Slayer? WTF? Just kidding, Slayer's alright.
  • Mastodon scores with Megan Fox, and Rex Brown is knockin' on death's door.

Enjoy!

Charlie Watts, Still on the Drums

Dammit! Start the presses! Y'know, I thought I was on the cutting edge breakin' the news how Charlie Watts had left the Stones, but not minutes after I publish the story, Brit music magazine NME uploads the band's urgent press release that emphatically states how the Wattsman is STILL IN THE ROLLING STONES. The full text:

"Contrary to a fabricated story that ran this morning on a small music web site
in Australia, drummer Charlie Watts has not left The Rolling Stones,"
the group explained in a statement.
Well, there ya go. I still hope the rumor's true just so Matt and I can finally work on a Definitive List o' Top Six: Rolling Stones Drummers We'd Like to See. Here's some "Honky Tonk":

Charlie Watts, Not on the Drums

Stop the presses! According to Australian music site Undercover, Charlie Watts has quit The Rolling Stones. Guess after 46 years the guy got tired of playing the same drumbeat. Maybe he can use his golden years to learn how to hit the snare and hi-hat at the same time. Zing!

The article sez Charlie Drayton, skinsman for Keef's X-Pensive Winos, will be the likely replacement, and, sure, that's a pretty solid choice even if the Heavy Duty'd prefer a Charlie "Chuck" Biscuits or a William "Flavor Flav" Drayton instead.

Here's some "Sympathy":
